Sleeping Better

Hello Everyone! This week has been pretty tough on me. We have been letting Cameron "cry it out" at night and only going in to pat his back or butt after he fusses for awhile. I must say that although it has been difficult, it is working and he is sleeping better and better. I can't say that we've mastered it and that he is sleeping through the night completely quite yet, but we're getting there.

Cameron has been rolling over for awhile now, but he is starting to roll from his back to his tummy to his back! So far he has only mastered this on the right side (maybe this means he will be right handed?). Anywho, it is really fun and amazing watching him do it and then looking for praise from either me or Paul. There is nothing better than seeing your child smile or laugh :)

Have a great week!!!

XOXO

Daddy feeding me rice cereal; hmm..not sure that I like this stuff

Whoa, more ended up on Cameron than in his mouth - ha,ha!

We're Blogging Again!!!

It's been awhile since we've posted anything new, so we have alot of catching up to do! Cameron is 4 months old today. I know I keep saying this, but the time is going by so fast. Here are a few fun facts about our little bundle of joy:

Favorite Book: Baby Einstein Mirror Me
Favorite Song: If You're Happy and You Know It
Favorite Sleeping Positon: Tummy (no matter how much I try to get him to sleep on his back, he just doesn't want any part of it!)
Favorite Toy: Giraffe and Adventure Gym or pretty much anything he can grasp and put into this mouth :)

We had to start Cameron on some formula and surprisingly he loves it. We have to use the soy base type though because the other kind makes him break out in hives - yikes! I still can't say I like him going to daycare, especially with the cold he has had since his first week there but it is what it is and I'm dealing with it better. We are having difficulty getting him through the night without waking up several times so we're going to start to try to let him "work it out on his own" per our pediatrician's suggestion. We'll see how well that works out with me (probably not so good, but I know I have to let him learn to soothe himself). We also got the ok to start a little rice cereal if we want so we're going to start him on it a little this week. Our pediatrician said it's really not necessary until 6 months but they encourage people to try if they are willing to and their baby seems ready. We'll let you know how that works out later this week.

Back to Work & Daycare

Hello Everyone! It's been awhile since I've had time to post an update. Cameron is growing like a little weed lately and it's been so fun! He is finally starting to full out more. He is such a little ham and Paul and I can't get enough of him! It's been 3 weeks now since I've gone back to work and I wish I could say I'm getting used to daycare but I'm not. :( I try to focus on the time I do get to be with him, after work and the weekends, but sometimes I just break down and cry. I'm hoping in the next couple of weeks that I'll get better and more used to it. I know he gets to socialize with all the other babies, but I just worry about all the new things he's doing and don't want to miss out. Paul has been amazing with all of my mood swings and I think besides my body finally starting to get back to where it once was that soon I'll be back to normal emotionally too.

Here are some fun pictures. Enjoy!

HA,HA,HA...He laughs like this anytime I sing "If you're happy and you know it"

2 Month Appointment

Hello Everyone! Cameron had his 8 week check-up this past Thursday. He is doing great, besides a nasty diaper rash that won't seem to go away. The doctor gave us a prescription for a new ointment so hopefully it will be gone very soon! He got 3 shots. Luckily Paul came with me because I cried when they gave him the shots :( I haven't seen him be so upset before so it really made me sad. I was able to immediately pick him up and cuddle with him once it was over. He was a bit fussy and didn't sleep very well that night, but now we're back on track. Cameron is sleeping 5-5 1/2 hours at night- yay!

Well, Monday is my first day back and I must say I've been dreading it for awhile now. The time has gone by way too fast. It will really be a big adjustment for me. I haven't been separated from Cameron even for a day since he's been born so this is going to be so difficult and I really hope I can get through it.

My sweet little baby boy

I love this pic! My favorite color on him is red!

That's all for now. I'll let everyone know how my first week back at work goes later. Enjoy the sunshine! :)

Sleeping Better! :)

Cameron slept 6 hours last night from the time I put him to bed until he woke up to eat and get a diaper change - yay! Paul and I are both feeling like we are getting more sleep lately. This is my last week being at home with Cameron so it's a pretty emotional week for me. I'm trying to just enjoy the last few days we have together before I go back to work and not get too upset. I know that he will be in good hands and that we'll just have alot of cuddle and play time when I get home.

He is getting so big and changing more and more everyday. He is smiling alot now and Paul and I will do just about anything to make our little man laugh. His 2 month appointment is this Thursday so we'll be sure to post more pics and stats later this week.

Chilling in his bumbo chair

Working on head control and arm strength ;)

I love my grandmas

This smile is priceless!

I'm a clean little duckie (I love this hoodie duck towel - so cute!)

Fresh diaper after my bath

Cameron still has all his hair! Everyone always stops and ask me if I had heartburn when I was pregnant and I didn't so whoever started that old wives tale is wrong - ha,ha!

I'm Growing!!!

Wow, we have alot to catch up on since I blogged last. The time goes by so fast! Cameron is getting better and better at lifting his head up when we do tummy time and is starting to smile more and more (mainly when he passes gas, but hey we'll take any smile we get). Being a Mom is amazing and is the best job in the whole world. I value every day I get to spend with my little man. I have to go back to work June 1st :( Luckily Cameron will only have to be in daycare 2-3 days a week, but it is still going to be one of the hardest things I've done.

I had an amazing 1st Mother's Day! Paul and Cameron got me a manicure and pedicure which I was in desperate need of so that was a treat! I'm going this Thursday to get pampered - yay! Here are some new pics of Cameron.

Let's go Cubs!!!

One Month Check-Up

Cameron's one month check-up went great! He is growing and is a healthy, happy baby boy. Our next appointment will be in one month and will be a difficult visit since he will be starting shots. Paul and I have been able to go to all the appointments together so far and I know I will really need Paul's support next time since Cameron has to get shots. Life as parents is amazing! Every day I'm amazed at our little miracle. He is really starting to get better at lifting his head and the range of motion he has with his head as well.

This will be my first Mother's Day as a Mom and I'm so excited! I love being a Mom!!!

Go Cubs!
(Paul is such an amazing Dad! It melts my heart!)

I had my follow up appointment as well on Monday and everything is great! My doctor said I can go back to doing pretty much everything - yay! I actually went for a power walk/jog this afternoon while Paul stayed home with Cameron. It was so nice to get some exercise.
